Joanna Inzunza was only a few weeks into her new job as a recruiter when she got an exciting offer from her only construction client – UMC, Inc. They had a job offer for her after only a few interactions. Joanna was floored but agreed to meet for dinner with DeeAnn Devey and Ricardo Legarburo to discuss their proposal. It was a dinner meeting she wasn’t expecting.
During their dinner, DeeAnn and Ricardo shared the core values of UMC, Inc. with Joanna, and she was impressed. As a trade worker herself, she came up in California’s steel framing and wall systems industry but left to pursue better opportunities in Utah. Joanna had seen firsthand how difficult the construction industry could be for workers and was looking for something different. As she talked with DeeAnn and Ricardo, Joanna realized she might have just found what she was looking for.
Joanna was impressed by everyone she had interacted with at UMC, Inc. She’d never seen such a high-caliber company in the construction field before. The company’s core values were right there for everyone to see, and everyone was sticking to them! That impressed her, so Joanna interviewed and accepted a position as a recruiter at UMC, Inc.
For Joanna, whose passion has always been to help people grow, joining UMC, Inc. felt like a no-brainer. In every company she’d worked with before, she’d felt underappreciated and undervalued and had seen the people she supervised treated the same way. But in her few short weeks here at UMC, Inc., Joanna already sees the difference. She’s never had a job offer with such great benefits as the one she’s been given from UMC, Inc, and it’s motivating her to do her best. She believes that one of the reasons she felt so open to UMC, Inc.’s offer was that she saw that everyone on the team was doing their best work – because they were being given the best from UMC, Inc.
Now, Joanna is in a new position here, helping us recruit other people to join the team. She’s excited to start finding other people just like her, searching for a company that sees their value and believes in them. As a general contractor, she’s eager to learn more about the plumbing and HVAC industry. We’re so grateful to have Joanna join our recruitment team!
