UMC, Inc. 2019 Quality Summit
When UMC, Inc. was first formed, it was just two brothers working together. Over the years, we’ve grown as a company, gotten more extensive, and found our niche as a commercial HVAC and plumbing firm focusing on multi-unit projects. Today, our future seems bright. We have several large projects on the go, and we are routinely completing projects with hundreds of suites, all due to our team’s hard work and diligence.
We believe in the power of setting goals and working hard to achieve those goals. We’ve accomplished many of the goals we set for ourselves these past few years. But when each project is finished, and each goal met, who we are as a company remains the same. Success hasn’t changed us.
Our core values are an inherent part of who we are. From the leadership team down to our newest apprentices, we strive to embrace these values as a company. Each day we work hard, we strive for excellence and personal growth. So when one project finishes, we don’t sit back and pat ourselves on the back. Instead, we go home, spend time with our families, and come back the next day ready to get started on the next project.
We’ve worked with some industry leaders in the construction industry who have challenged us, taught us, and become valued partners and friends. When you work together on the job site, your company’s culture needs to align. You need to have the same work ethic and standard of excellence. For example, one of our most trusted partners, Palace Construction, recently shared their feelings about working with us in a video testimonial. Project Manager Andy Del Grosso shared that “[UMC, Inc.] knows their scope of work really well. They know what they need to do when they get to the job site.” We pride ourselves on doing our job well and delivering quality work for our partners, and when there are times when things need to be fixed, we own up to that because integrity is one of our core values. Del Grosso continues, “UMC has been somebody that takes ownership and accountability and quickly make things right.”
It would be easy after the growth and success that we’ve had to change who we are as a company, but that’s not who we are. We started as a small family company, and even though we’ve grown bigger, we are still family. So our goals may be a bit bigger, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to put in the work to achieve them or change once we reach them.
