I wanted to thank you personally for all the support you provided me and my family during this tragedy. The support and outreach from the UMC family have been overwhelming.
The company Christmas party’s reoccurring theme was “We love you.” As a new employee, I did not take this to heart. Over my year of employment, I became close with the team that I worked with. My managers were exemplary, and I consider them friends.
Not only did I share time with my team members on the job site but also outside work. I shared close relationships with those I worked close to, but I never realized that love extended even further.
On the morning of Feb 21, I received a phone call from the Jefferson County sheriff about my daughter, Kataleya. I was in immediate shock and walked outside of the building.
Once I contacted Guy, he rushed across the job site, no questions asked. Albert Aro grabbed me, took me to his truck and drove me south to Littleton. No one thought about themselves at that moment, only about their friend. The UMC family came together to offer their support from that moment on. Everyone I knew, and others I didn’t, reached out and offered their corner. I also had no family present in Colorado, but I didn’t feel alone.
I believe that God does not I’ve us more than we can handle, but with the love and support from you, your family, and of course, the UMC family, I have personally been able to concentrate on my mental health, spirituality, family and mourning. I would especially like to thank you for your personal donations and for allowing DeeAnn to prepare the GoFundMe page.
Gy and Jason Puckett also prepared small personal fundraisers. This has made the tradition easier and alleviated any monetary stress during this difficult time.
I cannot express my love and gratitude for all of you. Anyone who reads this, anyone involved, thank you.
After thinking and processing what happened, I decided to move home. I know this decision was the best, but it broke my heart to leave UMC and the people I have become so close with. I found a family while living in Colorado, and that was through UMC. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
God Bless,
