We are thrilled to announce the upcoming 4th Annual UMC Inc. Charity Golf Event, scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025, at the picturesque Thanksgiving Point Golf Club. This year, we are proud to partner with Kids Who Count, a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to empowering families to optimize the developmental potential of their young children.
This highly anticipated event brings together industry leaders, community members, and golf enthusiasts for a day of fun and philanthropy. More than just a round of golf, this tournament serves as a meaningful opportunity to support children with developmental delays and disabilities. By participating, attendees will enjoy a premier golfing experience and contribute to a cause that provides essential early intervention services, helping children build a foundation for a brighter future.
About Kids Who Count
Since 1986, Kids Who Count has been serving families and children in South Utah County. Their mission focuses on providing individualized early intervention services to children under three experiencing developmental delays or disabilities. By offering services such as early intervention, mental health support, vision and hearing screenings, and sibling support groups, they strive to make a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families.
The Power of Philanthropy
Charitable giving is crucial in addressing societal challenges and fostering community well-being. In 2022, Americans collectively donated $499.33 billion to various causes, reflecting a deep-rooted culture of generosity. This philanthropic spirit provides essential resources to those in need and strengthens the social fabric by promoting empathy and solidarity.
Sports as a Vehicle for Good
Sports events, particularly golf tournaments, have long been effective fundraising and community engagement platforms. They offer participants an enjoyable way to contribute to meaningful causes while fostering camaraderie and networking opportunities. UMC Inc. has embraced this approach, successfully hosting charity golf events for the past four years. These events have united industry leaders and community members in support of various charitable organizations, amplifying the impact of collective giving.
Utah’s Culture of Giving
Utah consistently ranks among the top states in the nation for charitable contributions. In 2024, it was recognized as the second-most charitable state, boasting the highest volunteer rate, approximately 41%, and the most volunteer hours per capita, around 38 hours. This culture of generosity reflects the residents’ commitment to supporting their communities and making a positive difference.
